Germany have never failed to win their first two games at a World Cup.

They’ve got a free-kick in a dangerous position on the left.

Into the final 10 minutes we go. Thomas Muller is complaining as Sweden take their time in taking a goal kick.

If things stay like this Germany won’t be out but their hopes will be hanging by a thread.

Never write off the Germans!

The curse of the champions?
HT: Germany 0-1 Sweden

If Germany do go out here it would be the fourth time in the last five World Cups that the defending champions have gone out in the opening round.

When you score a goal you’re always in danger of letting one in because you lose a bit of concentration. Germany started brilliantly but they’ve dropped off since and they look rattled.

Wow, wow, wow.

Sweden’s backline is massive – it means it’s going to take a special ball in or a set-piece to find a German head.

The Germany possession count is up at 86% but, like against Mexico, when Germany lose the ball they do leave themselves exposed at the back.

If Germany are being restricted to long shots at the moment and Sweden will be quite happy with that. Sweden have done well since they began pressing Germany high and that will give them confidence.

There definitely was contact – as Marcus Berg goes to play the ball – Jerome Boateng just takes his legs away. I think he’s unlucky not to get a penalty there.

Germany looking like Rocky, take a beating at the beginning to show they’re human.

“Germany facing elimination” Now there’s a sentence I couldn’t imagine 10 days ago! This should be a beauty…massive opportunity for Sweden.

More good play down the right from Germany with Julian Draxler in the action again. His powerful cross goes right across the face of goal and out for a goal kick.

Miroslav Klose would have tapped that in.

Germany come again, this time down the right. Corner.

First chance goes to the Germans and what a chance it is. Julian Draxler just has to score as the ball lands at his feet six yards out but his shot is blocked by a blue shirt.

Germany are missing a top drawer striker. Think Kane, Lukaku, Griezmann, Costa. Sadly it could prove to be their downfall this year.

Ex-Aston Villa striker in Russia

I think we’ll see a very methodical Germany tonight – a team who does the simple things well and work hard for each other. But when they do click they can be devastating. I think against Mexico they expected to come away with a win and they got their bums bitten.

Iran have equaliser ruled out for offside
Morocco already eliminated from Group B

Iran would go through to the last 16 if they beat Portugal, Carlos Quieroz’s homeland, on Monday (19:00 BST).

A draw would only be enough if Spain were to lose to already eliminated Morocco, and that would probably have to be by more than one goal.

Spain and Portugal just need draws to progress.

Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia

It’s been slim pickings in terms of goalmouth action in this game.

Carlos Sanchez should have doubled Uruguay’s lead earlier in the half though.
