Lewis Hamilton gets his new team-mate Valtteri Bottas. Valtteri Bottas joins Mercedes for 2017, he is now joining Lewis Hamilton and expects to form a new power to the Mercedes F1 fight. At the team’s Brackley headquarter, the Finn was unveiled on the same day Williams had confirmed that Felipe Massa has now come out of his retirement to replace Finn in the line-up.
The sudden retirement by world champion Nico Rosberg in December created Mercedes a shock and the world was shocked too. After Nico’s departure, the seat next to Lewis Hamilton has become vacant.
On a statement, Bottas said, “We already did our contract today, and surely I have been dreaming of driving for a big team like Mercedes, a team of Champions.”
He also added I am very much proud to be part of this big team and very much proud of what I have achieved in the last several years and the history of my Formula One. I can’t wait to start the driving properly.
The 27-year Finn is looking forward to working together with Lewis Hamilton. Read more here
